Plymouth READS 2020

COVID-19 Update: Plymouth READS 2020 has been postponed till this fall.
We will advise you of the new date for Leif Enger’s appearance and as many of the other events as we can schedule. We are, of course, quite sad about all of this. Meanwhile, we hope you will read “Virgil Wander” and recommend it to your neighbors and friends. See you in the fall!

Plymouth READS has selected Virgil Wander by international bestselling author Leif Enger as its 2020 book selection.

When Midwestern movie house owner Virgil Wander’s car flies off the road into icy Lake Superior he survives, but his language and memory are altered and he emerges into a world no longer familiar to him. Virgil begins to piece together his personal history and the lore of his broken town, with the help of a cast of affable and curious locals. It’s a potluck of mystery and bootleg movies, fish tales and kite flying, baseball and lasagna, by the bestselling author of Peace Like a River.

Read Virgil Wander, then meet the author, Leif Enger, for the grand finale of this year’s events. Time for Q&A. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

In its eleventh year, Plymouth READS seeks to spark conversation, build community and foster learning and discovery in Plymouth by rallying readers around a single book.

Copies of Virgil Wander are available at the Plymouth Library, 15700 36th Ave N.
